Four Wounded as UAE Downs Iranian Missiles and Drones

Abu Dhabi, UAE – April 6, 2026

The United Arab Emirates’ air defense systems successfully intercepted a fresh wave of Iranian projectiles today, the Ministry of Defense announced.

According to a statement carried by the official WAM news agency, UAE forces engaged 12 ballistic missiles, 2 cruise missiles, and 19 drones launched from Iran.

Despite the interceptions, falling debris and secondary effects from the attack resulted in four people being wounded. The injuries range from minor to moderate, with no fatalities reported in this incident.

This latest barrage adds to the ongoing Iranian missile and drone campaign against the UAE, which has intensified amid the broader regional conflict. Since the start of the attacks, UAE air defenses have engaged hundreds of ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and thousands of drones.

The Ministry of Defense confirmed that most incoming threats were neutralized before reaching populated or critical areas, though occasional debris has caused limited damage and injuries in recent days.

Authorities have urged residents to follow civil defense guidelines and remain vigilant during air raid alerts.

The situation remains fluid as part of the escalating 2026 Iran War tensions in the Gulf. Further updates are expected from UAE officials.
