Let that summer from my memories return once more (Part#02) Poem

That meeting lasted but a few fleeting moments,

Yet in that single, tender encounter,

My heart awoke with a thunderous rhythm,

Beating wildly as if it had found its long-lost home.

Holding the handlebars of my beloved companion, my faithful bicycle,

I pedaled homeward through the fading light.

Yet every turn of the wheel carried only thoughts of him,

I was utterly lost, drowning sweetly in that golden memory.

I had not asked his name,

And he had not offered it.

How I wished he had spoken first…

But silence prevailed, and now a storm of questions raged within my soul.

My heart began to scold itself in quiet despair:

“Where shall I find him again?”

“And if fate denies me another glance, what then shall become of me?”

Without a single morsel, I lay sprawled upon my bed,

Lost in the labyrinth of his memory.

No sleep embraced me, no peace descended that night.

My eyes and weary mind battled till the first blush of dawn.

At last, a fragile slumber claimed me for a few stolen moments…

And there, in the realm of dreams, he appeared once more.

In that same cherished place, under the evening sky.

I asked his name in a breathless rush,

And the place where destiny might lead us again.

He answered swiftly, with a gentle smile,

And together we wandered back to the lake’s tranquil shore.

Our bicycles rested quietly against an old tree,

While we sat upon a weathered bench,

Lost in an endless river of words and whispered dreams.

Then I awoke…

It was only a comforting dream,

A fleeting illusion wrapped in the soft glow of longing.
